Cootby MaryOComment by nam: And here I thought the red eye was because of her flash :) I like the high key background, too, as well as the bird's position in the frame. |

Cootby MaryOComment by tome: A lovely bird! I've seen them before but never knew their name, in any language... I love the detail you managed to show despite the high key. |

Unfurlingby MaryOComment by bassbone: delicious processing to give one cool textures
For me, the key to this one working is that the color is shining through |

Cootby MaryOComment by hahn23: American Coot, Fulica americana. Probably not a mature adult. Possibly year 2. They migrate through Colorado, but I've never seen one. If i'd take time to go to the winter wildlife preserves in New Mexico, I'd probably see them there. Nice red eye, which is a key field mark. |

Lady in Blueby MaryOComment by RKT: The light is fab! Love how the background echos the texture of the dogs fur. This really is a super nice portrait. |

Lady in Blueby MaryOComment by pixelpig: Well done Mary. Holly gave you an excellent portrait, she looks very imposing. Important. The light is gentle, but revealing. Love the little catchlight in her eye. No wonder it's hanging on the wall! |
