Parade Hairby MaryOComment by SwordandScales: What an expression on that dog's face! Way to be there in the moment, and props to you for being courageous on a few levels. Firstly, that courage to go out and take street shots which is the foundation of it all, but moreso the courage required for this far more intimate frame which the picture would be completely worthless without.
Things that would've brought your score up from my perspective: the luck to have the girl making true eye contact with our canine friend, and...you know actually on second look, that's it. So I'm upping the score now, hahaha. You're my second favorite this challenge. I haven't been to DPC in years, and I'm happy to be back. Shots like this remind me of why I am. |

Consideringby MaryOComment by Zita: Personally, I thought this challenge would be purrfect for moggies, but the submissions seem sparse. The DoF on the eyes is so sharp (a good thing normally!) perhaps the technique did not apply consistently across the image. Still I like the "glowing" whiskers. Six from me.
I'll wager this beauty rules your household, yes? |

"Chaos is the score upon which reality is written." -- Henry Millerby MaryOComment by mariuca: Irresistible moment to witness without trying to save it forever. The photograph has the quality of a tapestry. It is a fragment of a very large tapestry, something on a vast subject such as "the music of the spheres".
The four horizontal registers are so perfectly interwoven. The grayness of the image can be probably still fine tuned but as it is we look at a fascinating photograph. |
