Abandoned Wheelbarrowby ruthiekComment by frisca: I can't decide whether I like the high contrast in this with the stark lines, but upon reflection, I think it works to create a message about the broken wheelbarrow. |

Rainy Day Greensby ruthiekComment by HBunch: *Critique Club*
This is a really pretty scene. I don't think that it was captured well though.
The lighting, obviously being a rainy day, wasn't very good to shoot in. The focus is soft, and this could be a product of low light. The haze at the top is ok, because it only effects the background, and not the tree branches in the front.
The angle and framing/cropping are good. I like how the large branch arches across the photo to the left. I wonder if maybe a little extra grass at the bottom would help to enhance the greenness.
It's green, definately fits the challenge. Overall, it's a pretty shot, just suffers from softness in my opinion.

Rainy Day Greensby ruthiekComment by Journey: Hmmm, yes, i see what you said about the rain there :) I liked the composition and the mood it gave (it's nice to see rainy pictures while being comfy behind the computer indoors). Good variety of greens with the ones in the main branches being pleasantly and mildly intense and then nicely muted in the background. Is this image soft? Don't know, maybe just a tad but that helps the mood and if you're standing in the rain it's tough to really take the time and check and re-check. What i don't like about this image is that the bottom of the foreground tree is cut off. It therefore comes across as more of a big pole and it doesn't have the nice expressiveness of the other tree.
