Hello Neil!
This is a cute capture. You did a good job getting the squirrel and feeder in focus. The thing that I see where you could have improved are on the "halo" around the squirrel as some mentioned below. Because of this, it make it quite obvious that the DOF blur was done in post. Also, I think if you would not have blurred the background so much, it would have looked more natural, thus, improving the quality of the photo.
Good luck on your future entries.
Regards,
Chris |

Textureby Dim7Comment by RedHotKK: Seems like just a little sharper focus would have nailed this for you. |

Textureby Dim7Comment by wetland: Nice capture...the head of the Jay seems to be out of focus. Probably also should crop more of the cedar (hemlock?) in the foreground out. |

Textureby Dim7Comment by karmat: A bit blurry/grainy, perhaps from using digital zoom, no tripod, or having it too dark then brightening it in post processing? great capture, though. |

Waterby Dim7Comment by autool: Looks mighty cold to me. Great shot. When I look at it I want to see more upstream, don't know if that is good or bad. |

Textureby Dim7Comment by Rgarcia: Nice shot, a little bit blurry but still you can make out the contrast between the feathers and the pine tree. |

Textureby Dim7Comment by Hye5: Your subject is out of focus, losing the testure in the feathers. The background, also out of focus (but perhaps not enough - less DOF if possible), is too busy and distracting. |
