Barbed Wireby Dim7Comment by Art Roflmao: Really nice image, but doesn't fit my idea of low tech. It may be old, but barbed wire is still in use everywhere. Still, I can't give it a really low score. ;-) |

Barbed Wireby Dim7Comment by docpjv: your composition sadly takes away the competative advantage you had with this great pic. i would suggest you take the pic again, if you can, and compose the barb on , for example, the lower left corner. play with the positioning... i' sure you will see the difference. other than that, a wonderful pic |

Barbed Wireby Dim7Comment by colda: the wire itself is interesting but the blown out sky above is distracting |

Barbed Wireby Dim7Comment by Rankles: Nice! Great idea and nice shot. Strange how the backgrounds so crooked when the post isn't, but the blur makes this irrelavant as it can hardly be seen. Well done! |

Barbed Wireby Dim7Comment by joebok: I like the exposure and colors - but I think the post and wire is a bit too centered horizontally - I think having more of the landscape on the right would add a lot of interest. |

Barbed Wireby Dim7Comment by tyt2000: hmmm, probably a less centered composition and a duotone would have made this more interesting, but thats just my taste :) |

Rings of timeby Dim7Comment by Dr.Confuser: This is possibly the best subject I can think of for the challenge. I would love to see a macro shot of the rings, possibly where they break into cracks and fissures in the wood. |

Rings of timeby Dim7Comment by e301: I'm not sure it's necessary to show the entirety of the tree to get your point across here; by doing that you've inevitably included a large amount of background, and that background isn't so strong - the clutter of leaves, trees, sky, grass just feels messy here, and doesn't add to your real point, surely? Also the rings are only really visible in one part of the tree - right beside those interestingly shaped cracks. I wonder that you haven't concentrated on just that area, filling the frame with tree would make it much more effective (much simpler, really). There's little sense of light here also - very blank and ordinary seeming. |
