This one gives me the sense of someone who doesn't have their glasses on. I like the red pop from the middle of the shot.

Hi Bobbie!!

You're right, the color looks much more cheerful-this feels very different; I like it also, have to think a minute longer before the brain registers the image.

thanks for trying it out, soothed my curiosity :)
thanks also for your & Jeffrey's moments of blur insight~ I agree with you, and believe this challenge is actually going to have us all seeing a lot more clearly!! I think an official challenge in this genre might prove verrrry interesting...

I think this has alot going for it, the diagonal lines of the kayaks, the sense of motion, and summertime....I wonder if we would feel this was a great image normally, with all the glare from the water? A B&W conversion could make this more powerful by eliminating the bleached out feel to the light.

What I am finding from this blur work is that I now concentrate more intently on other aspects of an image to make it appealing to the viewer since focus is no longer an issue :)

This almost exactly nails how I feel about my 2 years in grad school in Seattle. It was 1991-1993. I lived in Washington, DC before that period and I returned and have lived here ever since. Grad school was a fantastic experience, and my soul still feels at home in Seattle, but the whole thing feels a bit like an out of focus dream.

Ahhh. A summer day, the warm sun gracing everything with a glowing, golden color. My eye sees the abstraction of a tree branch until it slides downward and discovers children playing, laughing, jumping, and turning cartwheels.

Perfection.

Isn't it terrific that we just see the image as colors and shapes, without worrying about sharp anything? Great fun here. I love the overall theme of blue and white.
