ABC Pawn, Day 28by jackal9Comment by jonfrommk: Prowling the alleys for Pawn...You sure you got the spelling right?? ;-)
I really like some of the seedy desolate shots that people have taken for this challenge as the B&W medium works so well for it
Like the fact that you have avoided excessive noise/grain yet retained the air of quiet desparation
Good job |

Closedby jackal9Comment by Bruce_the_Robert: Another great shot, well composed; the outer edge burning/vignette is a tiny bit distracting for me (I keep wondering if something was on fire nearby), but the image is strong (I like the line of the building moving down from left to right). |

Tree-Sunset, Day 25by jackal9Comment by Bruce_the_Robert: The black and white, with the extra boost in contrast, is really impressive. I probably would have tried to underplay the light and search for the gradient (which is more apparent in the color version), but I'm glad you've presented it this way. It's very effective. |

Steffanieby jackal9Comment by Bruce_the_Robert: I like this as is (no cloning or changes needed for me); good choice for placement, with the gate just behind her so you don't even see the bottom part at first; those lines and the brightness on the right lead you right to her eyes. Nicely done. |

ABC Pawn, Day 28by jackal9Comment by Bruce_the_Robert: Nice shot, excellent conversion for the subject matter, really gives you the feel of standing there and looking at it. Excellent composition for something that could so easily be poorly shot. |

Closedby jackal9Comment by Charlene: So you burned instead of vignetted? This is super cool. I thought it was such a subtle vignette, I was thinking, "How'd he do that? Gotta try it!" hahaha! I dunno about you though, when I'm alone walking in some of these places, I SWEAR there are creepy eyes trailing me, lol! (or peeking out watching me) |

Seeing Redby jackal9Comment by colorcarnival: Congrats on a pretty good score! B & W contrasts are awesome, and love the emphasis on texture and details in the background. The red and white really pop out of the picture. Great pic! |
