Funny I had a snake named "The Edge" once. The focus is pretty soft, which can work is some shots, but not this one so much. lighting this from an angle would help to bring out some of the kitty's features. Do you shoot in full resolution? I think you can get more out of that camera...

Hey, your best score yet! I like it...soft light fades into black nicely. Good crop, nice angle. This would be a fun one to shoot inn really low light with a longer exposure...that tripod thing i was talking about before. nice shot.
