The light is pretty cool too - I like the outline of light framing the chair. And the DOF works for me. The retro processing feel is very cool too. Damn you for lack of sexy models and northern lights though, whatever were you thinking :p

The dof is just perfect and the muted colours are nice, it would be interesting to see with a more acid look though. I think it's a great shot but it's one of those quieter shots that get so easily overlooked on DPC. |

I wonder if you could have introduced a little more contrast into the TV screen to highlight the reflection - I think this was missed by a lot of voters. |

watchingby RetroesqueComment by Yo_Spiff: When I voted/commented on this one the first time, I have to admit that I did not pay careful enough attention, and did not realize there was that reflection in the screen that looked like it was turned on. I think a lot of people in their haste to vote on a lot of pictures missed that subtlety.
I think the image itself is a little deadpan, and a lot of voters (myself included) didn't get it. I don't know if that description makes sense or not. But, as I had said during my in-voting comment, I did not think this one would have broad appeal. |

Edit to say - I just saw that you mentioned the frame yourself in the I love my shot thread. So nevermind. Message edited by author 2008-02-08 17:37:47. |

watchingby RetroesqueComment by Bruce_the_Robert: There are so many ghosts here. Ghosts don't do well on DPC; people don't like to see ghosts, it brings up too many of their own. But there are so many here. In the TV -- it's not plugged in, I looked for the power cable, but it's not there. So, either the picture is a ghost, or the tv is a ghost, showing images without electricity. And then there are the ghosts in the windows of the house. Ghosts of a place where everyone has been, but no one lives. I love your work, but just remember, not so many ghosts next time. Ghosts don't do well on DPC . . . |
