What a great picture. The black and white works great with this picture, and I think the shallow depth of field is great where just the frame and the bird stand out.

I'm sure that others will vote this lower than I do - mainly because of the out of focus plant life in the background and the lack of definition on the fence wire in the foreground. Never-the-less, those eyes, those little pin feathers all around the face, the exquisite detail ... you gotta love it. And, although it has a hint of tone to it, I love black and whites - or single color and white images.
