I think you're going to split opinion with this one, but I like it immensely. It's visually shocking (pun intended) and the unusual crop (losing the eyes) just adds to the power (pun intended).

Looks good. The backside could probably use a touch of fill light so maybe reflect some of that bounced flash in that direction.

I do some editing like a little more saturation, raise the exposure a little via adode camera RAW and sharp the picture.

Something about this seems kind of gross to me yet I still keep looking at it! It's a very clean shot and the composition is interesting. I like the use of B&W here too. Ok - I guess gross rates an 8 from me! :) Nicely done. I always wondered what my bellybutton was for!

Comment by Melethia:
This is incredibly well done. She's gorgeous and you've captured the light perfectly. Excellent composition, very nice use of depth of field. By the way, I think the "harder" lines of her hair really work well here and don't need to be softer. Provides a nice contrast to the softness of her face.

I agree with the previous commenters. this is awesome as well but if I HAD to choose I'd probably choose the full black and white image. this takes a tiny bit away from the facial expression since the focus is so much lower.

Hmmm. I really liked your entry but this version is pretty damn cool also. The color has purpose.
