Reminds me of the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. The texture is visible, but does not strike me as the major component in this image. If the lighting were from a different direction it might have shown it off better. Perhaps if the shot were color, but I would have to see the color version to really know.

If I could have stayed down there all day, I would have. It was a 1hr. Tour through the cave, with groups coming through every 10-15min. I only had time to get off about 5 shots in the Cathedral Room, but luckily I've been in the cave before, so I had some ideas of what I wanted. Needless to say, I was the only person in our group that had a tripod. I wanted to take the tour again....but ran out of time.
