Winning Shot or Window Breaks by JPRComment by cbeller: Appears to me, that would be considered an illegal jump shot. Need to come down on the cue, rather than scooping it. :-)
About the photo: Great shot. I like the angle, lighting, DOF, reflection on the 8 ball...well, actually everything about it. This will probably be in the top 3 this week. |

Five O'Clock Portraitby JPRComment by e301: I've ad trouble with all the facial hair shots so far - just can't decide where to place them in this challenge. Sure it fits the challenge, and is a perfectly acceptable portrait in a certain style - I'm no fan of that slight wide-angle look to this shot, but that's your choice. Well composed though: that edge of the sweater and the hat make a useful balance, and it's very well liut, though perhaps too much inclassic portrait manner, and not enough with an eye to bringing out the texture of the face. Not that you've removed it all - as some others have - but it's certainly reduced, I would say. Borderline 7, but presently 6. |

Cover the Earthby JPRComment by autool: A very different view. I think it could have more impact if you could have taken it with a bit more perspective giving the tracks depth by letting them get smaller in the BG. As is it is kind of flat and not working for the viewer. 5 |

Winning Shot or Window Breaks by JPRComment by jodiecoston: Beautiful. Love the sharpness and the composition. The more I look at it, the more I'm distracted by what appears to be a ball hovering in mid-air by what should be the shooter's right hand. ?? If you re-shot it without that, it would be an easy 10. With it, it's a 7 - I can't quit looking at that circle, and the fact that the highlights are blown out on it are even more distracting. |

Five O'Clock Portraitby JPRComment by jpochard: Break out the razor! This works well for texture and I like the cap and sweater neck. I like the lighting, but I'm not crazy about the angle of the head. Not sure what I would do differently to change that and still capture the texture. |
