Carriage House in the Morning Mist.....by NikonJebComment by krnodil: Perfect setting for soft focus, and overall you've got a very pleasing composition going, with the trees only glimpsed in parts. I do find myself wishing we could either see more of the house, or none of it - the little we can see, especially given that what is most noticeable is the striking contrast of the white shutters, imo detracts from the over restfulness of the shot. I don't know if that makes any sense - I guess what I mean is that my first impression was to squint and go "what's that in the middle of the shot?" instead of taking it all in with a more laid back gaze (the presentation overall suggests a laid back response was what you were going for). |

The Forgotten Farmhouse.....by NikonJebComment by Retroesque: Great locations. Of course the lighting can't be helped, but stronger contrast may have bumped the detail in the image. Not sure what your photoprocessing skills and availability are, but if you have photoshop then I'd have worked at dodging and burning to reduce some highlights and bring out some details lost in the shadows. |
