Night Runner...by NikonJebComment by impilot: I liked this shot (gave it a 6), but I have to agree with the other comments on the darkness of the truck. I would have liked to see just a little bit more truck detail. The flashlight idea sounds great....though I am pretty new trying to get serious about photography, so what do I know 8-). I loved the sky. the tree. and the composition in general. |

Night Runner...by NikonJebComment by OmanOtter: I really like this shot. I think it's a great subject; and I like that you shot it at night. I like seeing the branches through the windows. Maybe the lighting is a little harsh. I was thinking that it would look better with some lighting on the side facing the viewer. Then I read Melethia's suggestion of the flashlight "painting" and love that idea! I've seen some cool stuff done that way. I'd love to see how that would look and hope you'll post it. |

Night Runner...by NikonJebComment by keibo84: I like the subject, it conveys emotions just sitting there with flat tires and a rusty body. I'm definitely liking the cool background with the warmer tones in the front. As mentioned before, it is a bit dark for my taste, so flash or even better flashlight (great idea Deb) would have helped. As it stands now, the image seems very flat, with a flat side of the car facing us and then the background, there is almost no sense of depth in the picture. Maybe shooting the truck a little bit more diagonally (instead of so sideways) could have helped. Also, I see you shot this with your 28-300, maybe the 18-70 at 18mm would have help get a more dynamic angle. Hope this helps |

Night Runner...by NikonJebComment by ZeppKash: I think Melethia hit it right on with the flashlight to brighten the side of the truck up. You could follow the curves of the body to really draw the viewers attention. Or have you considered trying to HDR this shot? |

Night Runner...by NikonJebComment by Melethia: Jeb, this made me smile, because it's so YOU. I love the lit tree growing behind the cab - almost personifies this old gal, giving her a wonderful "do" of silver hair. I'll differ with the advice of flash - and instead offer flashlight. If you have the chance to try this again, take a flashlight with you, and use that to gently paint the side that's facing us. Might be kinda cool! |

Night Runner...by NikonJebComment by Pug-H: I find car pictures as boring as (dog, horse, baby) pictures, but this old truck obviously has a lot of character. However, there's too little light on the side facing us (the surrounding light is great, though maybe a little less on the tree immediately behind). Yep, just a bit of flash to highlight the side of it. |
