Well.. enough about the date stamp and light switch..
You've got a good angle.. the thing might want to work on first would be on the framing.. I'll worry about the exposure and lighting later..
I would put the camera on a tripod, set it on timer, use a really low shutter and small apperture.. on the lamp, off the flash and capture the ambience.. :)
Good first attempt.. :) |

Tall Lampby HeidsComment by mist: Oh dear. The datestamp is massively distracting (Outside of the challenge itself, I would turn that feature off, because you're blighting the pictures and the information is contained within the exif data so you don't even need the stamp.) Then you've got an angle that includes a light switch and the top right hand corner of a picture frame or similar. The lamp itself is kinda fuzzy along the left side, and very dark. The photo meets the challenge, but I'm still going to have to go low I'm afraid. |

Tall Lampby HeidsComment by Tim: really bad choice to leave the date stamp on the photo. the subject is quite boring and the lighting is flat and uninspiring |

Tall Lampby HeidsComment by Jason_Cross: I think this should ribbon because it is the only entry that has a date printed right on the photo. I give it decent score because it actually meets the challenge. |

Tall Lampby HeidsComment by Caitlyn: Too much noise. Perhaps a different subject. It would be a good idea to turn off your date stamp. |

Tall Lampby HeidsComment by tjbel05: Date stamp completely pulls away from this photo. Lighting is off a little seems a little gray. |
