I think your focus fell on the front lip of the bottom of the cross. Do you know how to MAKE your camera focus on the spot you want it on?? That may help you in this strange 50mm endeavour :P

The colors of the books are really nice and help the cross pop...maybe a little more focus work to help show off that intricate detail.
