dpc-swamp.jpgby bergiekatComment by Greetmir: Lovely shot. I can almost smell it, Kat.
I do agree that the bottom quarter of this image is not doing you any favours and would be more dynamic with it cropped out.
Congrats on the really wide tonal range! |

dpc-swamp.jpgby bergiekatComment by ordinaryangel: It may sound a bit odd but I think you only need the top of the image here...the foreground doesn't hold much interest for me and takes away from those lovely refections and ghostly trees. |

Bottoms Up V.2by bergiekatComment by MelonMusketeer: Hot air balloons and cameras are a match made in heaven LOL. I like the screen full effect of this image, and you did a nice job of removing the valve line. |

Invitation to a Brighter Dayby bergiekatComment by Melethia: When you save for display on the web or on a computer (outside of CS3) use "Convert to profile" under Edit and change from Adobe RGB (which is the CS3 default) to sRGB, which is the web space color default. As for your hot spots, try using shadows/highlights with no shadows, and a touch of highlights. You can also cheat a bit by picking up a color with the eyedropper near the area that's too bright, then create a new blank layer and "paint" with your paintbrush tool, at about 40% opacity and 80% flow, over the bright areas. It's a little like burning those areas, but with color instead of gray. |

Invitation to a Brighter Dayby bergiekatComment by ursula: Not entirely sure, but I think that it has to do with the colourspace assigned to the image. I've had the same problem from time to time, and I can't quite remember at the moment what I read about it - if I find it, I'll post it.
Otherwise -- I like how this makes you want to walk into the picture. You know, I think the colours look quite good as they are, especially on the wood parts. |

Handsome in Velvetby bergiekatComment by Brad: Should have moved that branch that is covering up the back leg.
