This is probably the best of the shells in this challenge, but it still leaves me wanting. The lighting is ok, but it doesn't reach Weston's level, where the shell looked absolutely silky and luminous, almost as if the light was emanating from it. It might have helped to dodge the highlights down the middle of the shell (I've heard that's how Weston did it).

Nice. Something I miss from Weston's originals is the in focus inside of the shell. I think something that makes his nautilus shots great is the shell's milkiness inside sharply in focus.

The white of the snow-capped hills is quite nice. Nice contrast against the blue of night DAY! A bit of a confusing scene with all the lines and distractions, but my eye is still drawn to the snow and the runs, and that's nice. Nicely exposed. I do just want to get up there though. It's really all I can think about. I guess you've moved me then.

because the buildings in your foreground aren't the subject but rather the mountain is, to me they are very distracting (buildings), personally I think that if you had focused more on just the mountain this would be quite the contender
