The ugly bokeh in the background (at least in my opinion, bokeh is always so subjective!) is distracting, and doesn't really make it feel like negative space.

I'm a self professed flower hater, I think people who resort to flowers are "lazy daises" and wussies with no imagination. Flowers are safe and easy and can almost always guarantee you a middling score. I have stopped voting on them because of my bias. After the way my score has tanked lately I'm ready to invest in a greenhouse but, that is neither here nor there.

Your photo is beautiful, you are one of the very few people on here who understand how to incorporate negative space properly, great job.
