Twins in Purpleby PHOTOCHlXComment by HBunch: *Critique Club*
This image looks oversharpened to me. I think that the white areas look unnatural, and there is a strange area around the edge of the tulips. I've never seen these kind of tuilps before. Interesting.
The angle and framing/cropping is not my preference here. The subject is too centered in my opinion and needs some dramatic angle or placement to make it appeal to me in that area.
Focus and clartiy seem hindered by what I'm thinking is oversharpening, however, I think that the DOF is very effective.
The way you have blurred the background to 'get it out of the way' is very nice. Not distracting in any way. Lets the subject really stand out of the photo to be noticed.
The colors are nice. The purple flowers on the green background fit the challenge nicely.

Matrix Now Showing...by PHOTOCHlXComment by e301: Different, surprisingly, to anything I've seen so far. not sure I'd file it under 'interpretation', not without more emphasis on all the showing times, which would say something about the prevalence of the new film. Compositionally, this shot feels like it's about what's at then end of the wall, rather than the posters - and there isn't anything there! That's leading lines for you - they're something to beware of, as well as to use. |

Twins in Purpleby PHOTOCHlXComment by pncowley: Color of the flowers is very nice, however, in my opinion, the shot has been oversharpened to the point of being excessive, especially the 'halos' around the edges of the flowers themselves. |

Twins in Purpleby PHOTOCHlXComment by anon-y-mouse: I think either closer cropping or a different angle would have helped this photo a lot. It comes across as really static, sorries. |
