Lovely black and white. Nice contrast. Love the smoke stacks (?) in the far right back of the photo. The people walking on the frozen lake add nice detail. And the bright sunlight is a good touch.

There are some really interesting elements to this picture that cause your eye to roam around the image and take it all in. Between the tree silhouette, the people, the sun and the smoke tower, there is a lot going on. However, if you take any one of the four out, I think the picture would have a lot less impact. An unusual composition, but in this case I think it works.

Almost mystical. That small cloud of smoke from the chimneys on the right looks like some levitating or flying entity of some kind giving the whole scene an almost Dali like surrealism.
Nice B&W processing and wonderful light and contrast.

It really is quite lovely in B&W. The focus is more on the form and the feel. I particularly like the squigglies in the lower right - looks almost like a signature in Asian language characters.

I like how small the guy and his little boat are. When we think we are so important, just look at this, and realize the world is so much bigger than we are! (wow, that got me going, didn't it?) Love the warm tones.
