A solid entry with nice crisp lines and background. I agree it doesn't stir me, however. I imagine if the whole DOF from pistil to petals was in focus it would be a bit more intriguing, or maybe some work on lighting. Nothing wrong with this entry, though - just not your best work.

Jason, great closeup. nice colors and background. The only thing that I would have changed would be to get the very center peice of the flower in focus. I don't know the names of my flower parts very well but you know what I mean. Otherwise, nice job.

This image is captured beautifully. I love the clarity of the center of the image, and how the petals flow out from the center of the image. Nice job!

I knew you lived in Seattle the moment I saw this photo - I lived there right out of college for a couple years. Since you are already aware of the techical issues of your photo (hand-held at 1/6? - can't believe it is this sharp, actually) I won't elaborate too much. I suspect you mainly took this for fun, and it did fit the challenge very well. Looking forward to seeing further photos of this guy - next time with a tripod :-)
