That whole 'neighborhoods with names' thing is one thing that I think is kind of cool about older cities. I've never lived in a city -- I'm as urban as I've ever been, living within the town limits of a town with 2000 people in it and no traffic lights -- but in my novel reading I'm always fascinated by this concept.
