Nice! How did you get to this altitude? (In an aircraft, stupid!) No, I mean, was this out the window of a 747 or a small private plane or what? What's the story?

Nice shot and I will even ignore the electronics that are probably involved in moving that thing. One gripe, the CSX colors might have looked pretty neat against the predominately grey/brown of the winter landscape.

The mechanical subject in your photo requires electricity.

Needs elelctronics to operate. Therefore, does not meet challenge. I like trains and train pics...this is a different view thtn teh traditional - based on sizing of the elements in the picture, ieach is given equal weight (ballanst, loco, trees, hillside and even the rail ) This 'balance' is not traditional - usually the element you want me to focus on is largest or otherwise pointed to by the composition. In this case the composition fails.

I saw the thumbnail version of the pic and thought to myself, "I think that's Mt. Rainier!" I was pleased to see it was. I am from the Seattle area and have flown by that mountain many times, and I, too, have tried to capture it. You did a great job and it is a joy to see a home-town treat. Your window must have been pretty clean, too! ;) We have a saying up there when the weather is clear: "The Mountain's Out"

A ribbon on a photo taken out of an airplane window? Gives me hope! Great photo, and good luck on future challenges.
