Comment by colorcarnival:
soooooo cool and artsy! I may have to pick up that book again some time because I do not remember the character. Love the storytelling and symbolism. The soft focus is dreamy and perfect!

perfect exposure on the model. If only you had a prettier clock! Still, a great shot.

Comment by pointandshoot:
You really picked up a lot of great shots at that pier, Karen.
I prefer Zoneplate shots like this one because there is so much left to fill in with imagination. (The thin line between abstract reality and surreality is what I find most enjoyable about viewing pinhole/zoneplate works) In this photo I am drawn to the two objects at the end of the pier - the only objects in the photo not formed by straight lines (aside from the fog/waves which is a known). The objects are well-placed in the photo and should, by all rules of photography, be the objects of attention, yet I didn't even see them until I had looked at the photo for several minutes. I love surprises in a photo. I'm guessing the objects are fishermen or tourists peering over the pier, although they could be pelicans, or perhaps it is Nessie sunbathing. Or... maybe I am just dreaming and there is nothing there at all. Well done.

In most other cases I'd mention the 'rule' of not splitting the image with the horizon but think it works here. I like it and guess this is the same spot as the other pier shots?

Sorry, I'm missing the significance of the time and name and veil. Nicely executed.

Amazing composition - a bold, brave image that shows confidence and clarity of thought. The coolness of the colours and the dew drops speak of a crisp autumn morning and the silence of a quiet walk in the woods. Allows so much space for contemplation.

Do not get it. I like the wispy effect on the girl. The relfection on the clock detracts from the photo.
