Sushi Sticksby MaYzComment by BigSmiles: Sushi is very interestng looking. Never had the chance to see/taste it because alot of asian food has seafood in it in some form. Oh well... This pencil shot is great if you like having graphite in with your meal hehe. The only complaint I really feel the need to make is that cup of coffee sitting by itself in the corner doesn't seem to belong there. |

Sushi Sticksby MaYzComment by decoteau: I had thought about this as a possible approach for this subject and I love the way it came out! |

A new stage in a Metamorphosisby MaYzComment by HBunch: A bit of technical trivia...The tomato horn worm, is the larvae of the hawk moth. He will live his life in this form only to later spiral himself into the ground like a screw and pupate or chrysalise into an adult moth. That's where it all begins again with the moth laying more larvae. The "tomato worm" grows up eating one type of leaf, and if that specific leaf is taken away, they will starve to death rather than eat different kinds of leaves. Metamorphosis is simply defined as a change in form. Your photo is beautiful. The lighting is excelent and the background is pleasing to look at. Focus is nice, I like the detail of his pattern. I love the originality. there are quite a few pics of the tomato this week, like how you used the tomato worm instead. I fear that people wont understand your "something new", that's why I included the brief history lesson. This IS in fact, a baby hawk moth. So I definately see the something new here. Don't get discouraged if other people don't see it. Very nice. Good luck with the challenge. |

A new stage in a Metamorphosisby MaYzComment by tee tah: I don't like to see the name of the challenge (new) used in the title... too cliche or something. There are lots of other, more creative ways to express it. I like the photo lots though. The blurring in the background is kind of distracting (to me anyway), but I know how difficult it is to get the background nice and clear when you want the central focus absolute. And sometimes a blurry background is actually better, I don't know. Anyway, good job, I think overall. A good study of an interesting critter. |
