Quite frankly, I think some people need to lighten up.

Lets keep this in it's proper perspective. Placing YOUR GOD on MY MONEY is offensive. Teaching YOUR GOD to MY CHILD in public school is offensive. Pledging allegiance to MY NATION UNDER YOUR GOD is offensive. That attitude deserves to be mocked, AND shot down in court.

Thank you all. I've enjoyed this shot more than any others I've done. I knew it wouldn't score well, but the message is powerful. As BHuseman has so eloquently stated, the subject need not be pleasant to be a good photograph. As far as religion goes, we make our own heaven, or we make our own hell. And we collect our rewards accordingly. As for me, I believe I'll have another beer.

You deserve credit for that. It is also well executed. This picture does not copy everyone else who took photos of someone acting like they were praying with a cross in their hands. Or some religious place where people worship. If youbelieve that being in this position is any less religious then being in a church and preying to god then you are dillusional!

Many people in this world have serious problems that lead them to this kind of situation. With that many of them ask for god. Why is that any different then fakes and phonies that go to church every Sunday thinking it will get them into heaven?

Just because a photo is disgusting it deserves a 1? I am sorry but not all photographs are of appealing subjects. Maybe you can share your rose colored glasses with everyone so they only photograph pleasant things in life.
