Old Time Tackby MonaComment by srdanz: A very interesting take on the challenge, and an excellent image with great DOF.
Critique: the lower left part has the lighter shade of wood or something else. I would have preferred to see it either cropped or cloned or both.
I also like the light reflection on the top of the tack, but it would have been interesting to see what it would look like with the light source coming from the front-left, illuminating more of the dark areas of the tack. I'm not sure if that would make the whole image better or not, but it would eliminate the shade in the front. |

Old Time Tackby MonaComment by glad2badad: I imagine you're getting beat up a bit for only having on tack instead of being tacks (plural)! ;^) I would love to see this photo win. It's an image that is suitable for framing. I really like the color, the composition with the wood angling across and the tack cutting diagonally the other direction. Good clear focus on the tack. Kudos to you for not taking the funny tack(less) approach to this challenge. Great job, and good luck! |

On My Daily Walkby MonaComment by BobsterLobster: Composition doesn't convince me. Usually the eyes work best when used with rule of thirds, and negative space usually works in the direction an animal is facing. Composition and cropping seem like an afterthought here. |

Extreme Action Vacationby MonaComment by Mona: Originally posted by kiwiness: Mona you didn't have to go and cut yourself just for a photo! |
I didn´t cut myself I cut my son David instead. No, this is after his knee operation. They fix a hurt from the football, but I am a little blue yellow and green on my leg because I fell on a sharp stone when I was in the woods and take photos on Elks. You have to do everything for the art. |
