interesting image. you might consider a shadow/highlight adjustment, though, to bring out some of the detail on the animal. as is, it's just too much in the shadows to really appreciate. you might also consider a less centered composition the next time you happen upon one of these beasts. it's one thing if you want to shoot a straight documentary shot, it's another thing if you want to create an engaging image the captivates and keeps the viewer for awhile. hope this does well for you. good luck!

I would have cropped out more of the blurry vegitation in the foreground. It distracts from the excellent part of the image of the elk.
