Cool. Not fine art, of course, but cool nonetheless. Perfect composition, and some tension between the shape of the photographer and the structure he is facing which is very pleasing. This lens -- if it is Nikon, I would guess this is the lovely and expensive 12-24mm Nikkor. Nice image, and very pleasing, but nothing in it to make me wonder what you were thinking when you took it. I know what you were thinking. The trick, for me, is to take images that make the viewer guess at what I was thinking, while knowing that I was indeed thinking *something*.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: What an interesting image! Not least because of the way in confounds our sense of scale - the bubbles suggest a macro but the rest of the scene communicates a larger scale. The colours are great, I particularly like the repeat of the horizon within the ice. Also - I think you have the overall luminosity level right too; it preserves the sense of perpetual evening.

Critical stuff: Nothing really.

Overall: Very well executed and presented image.
