I can't pin down exactly why I like this shot so much . . maybe it's the synergy of the colours on her dress / hair / paintings . . maybe the muted tones . . maybe the human element without the distraction of looking at a 'model' . . I don't know - but it's a captivating picture, and all the elements combine to make it more than the component parts.

There are these moments and impulses that happen when you are out shooting, where instinct takes over. I imagine this shot was like that. You see it come together, color and shape, and you bring the lens up and shoot and you know you got it. They aren't always flashy, they aren't always everyone's favorite, but they are exactly how they should be.

I wasn't sure what to think about this and kept coming back to it to get a feel for what the author was trying to convey. It doesn't seem to me that the subject is bored - it comes across more as merely killing time or listening to instructions. It is technically an excellant conversion though - artistically sound. A good solid capture.
