oneby nixterComment by CNovack: The excellent balance of B&W tones just helps the audience's eyes pay attention to the details and objects in this scene. There is the static (the unmoving dog standing) and movement (the person in midwalk blurred due to motion). Objects at rest and objects in motion. There is the subtle cue of direction as well - the chalk arrow on the brick walk. The object in motion is moving/following the direction it points too. Also interesting in the pattern matching is that we only see the bottom portions of these two main subjects - identity is unknown for we do not have the identifying features of the face/head. Then there is the "One" that is captured in the scene - part of the address of the building, the one dog in the scene, or the one person we see dominating the foreground of this composition? Or perhaps it refers to the one 'portion' I get to see of this scene to make or draw impressions from. Very artsy and has very much a feel of a cinematic still from a movie. Nice work! |

Even the main subject being cropped, and being the only part of the image that is not sharp. Not sure about the border either |

Very interesting and it tells a story or at least part of one. Love street work. Your tones are perfect. |
