A very inventive concept just a little shy of being perfectly executed. If the foreground were a little sharper with less DOF, it would have worked some special magic. As it stands, it's a wonderful concept and should be repeated as soon as a challenge subject suitable to the concept comes up. This would work extremely well if the DOF were controlled from sharp to gently faded background. A slightly different angle would help.

This would have worked very well if the DOF was properly executed. A great concept poorly executed - it would have scored well if properly composed.

I like that this isn't a soft flower, the change in texture is nice. However, this is not really in focus and it takes away from the picture.
