I love the composition; it's really interesting and draws the eye in. However, IMHO the image is in grave need of some basic postprocessing such as Levels or Curves adjustments. A little more contrast and deeper shadows would make it feel much less washed-out. Another technique to try is called Local Contrast Enhancement: apply the Unsharp Mask tool to the image, setting the radius to a value in the 20-40 px range, and the amount to 20%-50% (threshold 0). Keep it up.
