Pinwheelby levyj413Comment by Teafran: As photographers, sometimes we have what we think is a good idea that just doesn't quite work the way it was intended - this is a pretty good example of that concept. It might have worked better with a more focused primary image with less grain and highlights. The rather odd angle of the images is rather distracting and not terribly effective. While a good idea, it failed on execution. Having said that, it is a technique to keep in mind for the future - some patience looking for the right image would be in order for this technique to be truly technically and artistically effective. |

Potomac Winterby levyj413Comment by Germaine: I don't know if the white spots on the river are too exaggerated or not, because I've never see that much snow, but I do love the far shore and the brooding sky. The Jefferson Memorial is perfect. |

Potomac Winterby levyj413Comment by BrennanOB: This is a lovely moody shot, quite under rated IMHO. The snow in the foreground is a bit too bright, but I like the feel and the way the Jefferson Memorial pops. Message edited by author 2009-04-12 22:50:58. |

Potomac Winterby levyj413Comment by SaraR: I voted this unjustly low when voting - I gave all photos at least two viewings, but for some reason although I looked at this, I didn't really SEE it. I really like the patterns of the snow on the frozen river. The perfectly lit domed building peeking out provides the perfect foil to the wide vista. |
