Banish the Darknessby levyj413Comment by noraneko: This is a lovely b/w conversion, Jeffrey. I didn't even know you were entering it, but still didn't vote, as I didn't get around to voting this challenge. LOL. Anyway - lots of stuff to like in this photo - excellent lighting with emphasis on the candles and not the face, a sense of mystery, a message. The one thing that doesn't quite work for me is the composition. The candles almost form a horizon across the center of the photo which makes it look a bit square to me. But still a lovely photo and most worthy entry! |

No Calls During Dinnerby levyj413Comment by LaMas: I really want to say that that bird is alive, but it's foot looks like it is floating in the air. No one said it had to be a live bird though- right? (OR- it is so perfect, that its hard to comprehend how real it is!!LOL) Nice crisp focus, good background and composition. Excellent! |

Think Twice Before Knockingby levyj413Comment by yanko: The tilt definitely works here but so does the lower angle, which serves to put the viewer in a very vulnerable position. Message edited by author 2008-01-31 01:09:00. |

The Path Homeby levyj413Comment by Venom: I totally recognize this walkway from my trip to DC! I took a shot similar to this one but not quite as dramatic. I love the duo-tones here -BB
PS. Isn't this close to the United States Mint? |

No Calls During Dinnerby levyj413Comment by Yo_Spiff: Love those eyes! I find the crop a touch too tight on the left side. And a little noise visible on his feathers, though it is not an objectionable amount. It stands out mostly because the background is so smooth that I suspect you did some noise reduction there, but did not do it on the bird in order to keep detail. |
