Half Dome from Glacier Pointby chayes77Comment by violinist123: Critique Club feedback -
This is a breathtaking scene and well captured. Very good detail throughout the image and dead on exposure.
The image needs more contrast as it is a bit of a wash of middle tones. A light and selective touch, either with masks and curves or selective color tool, could deepen some of the tones here without obliterating much of the finer details.
I see your post challenge comment about the colors appearing much less saturated - this appears to be a black and white image so I'mnot sure what you mean by that.
Nice work! |

Half Dome from Glacier Pointby chayes77Comment by chayes77: Unfortunately, this image was exported improperly for the Web and the colors appear much less saturated and has less contrast than the original. I've figured out the problem and now have the photo looking much better on DPC. I was really disappointed that I didn't catch the problem before I uploaded. |

Half Dome from Glacier Pointby chayes77Comment by bassbone: this is an absolutely fabulous location for photos - you composed it very well but the image seems a little flat as if the light wasn't especially good. increasing the contrast USM at large radius or keeping it in color and doing lightness adjustments before desaturation would likely really help this. 5 |

CRW_9947 - Version 4.jpgby chayes77Comment by Wink: Lovely contrast, composition, and dof choice. The figure really stands out. I'd think about cloning out the spots on the railing if the intent is for fashion. Otherwise, it adds some grit to it, but the viewer is left uncertain about your intent. |
