Distilled? Part of it looks suspiciously clean and shiny. But that gets a nice reflection of trees which reinforces the idea of a moonshine still.

Comment by rlewis:
The rocks don't rock as a background and there isn't sufficient contrast between the flower and the rocks

With some direct lighting on the flower, you'll improve the color, texture, and sharpness of your subject. Currently, it just doesn't stand out enough.

I really like your compostion. The focus seems a little off, more on the rocks than the centre of the flower. I would have been tempted to clone out the spots on the petals.

Critique Club Review:

Color Saturation and Hue: N/A (image is monochrome)

Brightness and contrast: Bright areas are washed out, but it fits with the image. Dark areas are nice and rich.

Focus and depth of field are excellent.

I think I might have liked this one cropped a bit shorter. The building runs out into a featureless sky. A bit to the left and a bit shorter would have worked better for me.

I do like how you showed everything else is straight, even the buildings across the street. Very nice touch.

Looks like your score was hurt a bit by the litteralists who only wanted to see one line.

All in all, a nice image that i think should have scored a bit higher in the challenge.

What a fantastic idea and execution, and I'm really impressed by your persistence and effort in getting it just the way you wanted it. The noise is noticeable, but I think it strangely adds to the debauched tone, like it's an unflattering tabloid shot.

Great idea, and setup. Your expression and costume is sooooo campy. I think I would have liked this better without the noise, and with nice crisp, strong contrast and saturation. I got a good laugh from the title.

I love it! Great title and the noise kind of makes it look like one of those trashy womens magazines.
