Ascending 'boooo'by snafflesComment by bassbone: nice find to see the word - i understand the reason for the cropping to empahsize the word, but it seems a bit too closed here in the vertical direction - maybe a border would have helped you 'open' it up a bit... |

Save for Webby snafflesComment by smudgeSMJ: I think I would prefer a top-view of the spider, here it just looks like a bundle of legs and you can't see much of his skin's (?) detail or pattern. Something has really been munching on that leaf! |

Cleavage Barbie does bokeh!by snafflesComment by Melethia: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Heh! I didn't vote on this challenge, partly because I was on vacation and didn't have my usual time on the computer, and partly because of my embarassing score in this challenge. I did, however, wander through the challenge just to see what was there, and this one totally cracked me up! So VERY appropriate for a "dolls" challenge in so many ways. And your description is priceless. From the ol' DPC perspective, what got you scorewise were the technicals. I really do like the choice of focus on the 2nd doll (at least one other commenter did too) but there are those for whom something in the foreground out of focus is distressing (it's just the way some are, can't fix it). A bit of noise, yes. Might have been really funny to NeatImage them to death to make them look even more like dolls.... heh. But the noise actually seems to serve a purpose, since they're already plastic enough, don't you think? A final thought - my grandmother always told me to arrange things in odd - 3, 5, 7, etc - rather than even. Not sure how much difference that makes. Your arrangement here is good, but were it mine I'd crop a bit off the top to box them in some and to take away a bit of the white fluffy cloudlike thing in the upper right. You did notice, I hope, that your commenters enjoyed this. |
