Fabulous 40'sby PhotopromoComment by Photopromo: I see what you mean.
Due to brigthness of LCD screens or variations because of the calibrations on the screens, we can't control the output of any image when it is total dark backgrounds such as this one.
The light reflects at the fold of the black background, creating a ligther line. If you see it on your monitor, because your monitor calibration is very different then mine. This is normal.
on my CRT monitor, this shot shows much less that line, when I print this image at any lab or at my home printer, the print comes out as I see on my monitor as well. I see much less that line.
Welcome to the wonderful output variations of the digital world. (smiles)
Thanks for clarifying it for me.

On my monitor I see a lightness that follows just above the body from the waist down to the far right. Also a similar lightness just to the left of her head. I didn’t know if it was intentional to show an edge? Still think it’s an excellent picture. :-) |

The Great Expectationby PhotopromoComment by photoleon: Excellent photo! Shows all the fineness of the pregnancy and the single source light creates a very scenographic atmosphere! Thanks for the experience you gave to us... |

Fabulous 40'sby PhotopromoComment by Photopromo: Thanks for your comments.
The negaive space was created quite intentionally. I wanted to create a grandness around her. What is the "unnatural lighting/background" are you refering to? She is infront of a black backdrop. This image was shot with 2 studio strobes facing her body.
My subject in the shot was celebrating her 47th. Birthday. She signed a full model release. Otherwise you will not get to see anything I shoot with human beings in it. They stay private in archives.(smiles)
