Negativeby magenmarieComment by Rooster: Very interesting! I really have been more & more impressed with your art from each picture you shoot week after week. I love this shot. You have the simplistic yet uniquely creative look down. Will have to tach me a thing or two about this.
I would be interested to see this shot with a deeper depth of field, I think that would add something to it. The contrast, again, like most of your shots, really on point. Great stuff!

Lucky to be Aliveby magenmarieComment by Rooster: Hey Hey!
Teammate Rooster here!
This was a risky shot & I'm glad you took it! Screw the score, creatively this was a great shot.
Some quick thoughts:
THe colours are deep here & contrast very well. I'm really feelin' it. I also love the title. Very appropriate. The crop is nice as well. The focus seems a bit off tho & I think USM would have kicked this shot up.
Good stuff dude!

Drying outby magenmarieComment by Rooster: Wow, MM this is a fantastic shot! Seems like it should have faired better by my standards. The contrast is excellent and the brown seems like a true colour capture.
Some suggestions for improvement:
Not sure if this was intentional or not but the lighting seems just a tad unbalanced. Seems that there is more light towards the top than on the lower right. One thing I think you could have done to adjust this is in an adjustment layer of levels. Hit the white eye drop and click it on the lower right to adjust the white to be a bit brighter.
Lastly, the leaf is a bit dark. I think a tad more light would have made it pop a bit more. Maybe a tighter shot or even a macro would have hooked this up. What lens did you use?
All in all a slammin' shot! Way to represent Team 400D!
Peace

Negativeby magenmarieComment by skylercall: I think the depth-of-field here is just a bit too strong. I feel I made the same mistake on my own entry. |

Negativeby magenmarieComment by h2: good idea and composition. DOF is a bit too shallow, had also preferred a lighting that allowed to see what's on the negatives |
