Nice one, I like the exotic setting. Really conveys taking shelter from the hot sun.

Maybe my favorite of the bunch, though I think the skin colors are too orange.

Good depth of field - his separation from the background works well.

Hello Ankur, greetings from the Critique Club!

Regarding your shot:

Composition
Very good closeup, the expression on the man's face is great, the moment is very well captured.

Technique
For portraits you should keep your aperture to a minimum, f/8 is a bit much for this, since you had to increase your ISO to 800, and this creates a bit of noise in your photo.

Processing
The sepia tone is very pleasing, and the exposure is very good. But I fail to see exactly how it was done, because you made the white beard and the skin completely without details. I'm not sure if it was too much colour processing, but you can see in the lower end the white / greyish tone of the beard, it's completely burned. Also his nose has lost definition, that I suspect is because of the colour conversion.

Keep trying to improve these points, and since the sepia processing is harder, you can try next time to do a b&w conversion, the choices are more simple.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
Regards,
Joao

GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB

What a splendid image. I am so pleased to have the chance to look at it and enjoy it once more.

You had many comments and they told you want might be 'improved' with this image. You also have comments telling you what a fine image it is.

Sure, a larger size would have been helpful, and you will probably figure out how to achieve the appropriate size for DPC entries soon. There is a tutorial here on the site that may help.

Your sunrise/sunset shot is so appealing. The perfectly captured grains spilling out of the dish, the silhouette treatment, all are powerful and emotive. I have visited your wonderful country and know how exciting and colorful the sun at the horizon can be. You treated it carefully and carried it off nicely.

I look forward to seeing more entries from you. When I peeked at your portfolio I noticed you also enjoy bright color photography. Maybe we will see some of those soon as well.

Alice
