On the fence with the selective desat. I almost would like to see
a) the full color version
b) a version where all the blossoms are in color

for comparison.

There are some areas (especially in the trees) that appear quite dark however I don't think we need to see the detail there since the focus is on the blossoms. I like the contrast you attained in the black and white conversion.

Title kinda bugs me but who am I to say. Its your image after all and you can name it whatever you want. :)

Fool's gold is the reference, yes? Very good work on the post processing and a wonderfully composed photograph. Given my personal bias, I would much prefer this in pure B&W but I appreciate what you've chosen to do as well.
