I like the vastness to this shot, the trees are wonderful!

Happy belated birthday!

The church with all that snow looks kind of dreary, and yet the sun on the right look so cheerful. The go well together.

The trees are outstanding in the park.. Think of how long they have been growing as are sizeable..
u pp well... The man adds dimension and insight to the size of the trees..

What immediately grabs me here are the blue/tan/yellow colors and all that texture on both the pumping station and the water. Nice job getting the exposure right.

I'm on my work monitor in a fairly bright room, but I can still see a lot of shadow detail. That lighter green patch in the middle just jumps out, and the figure walking in there makes the shot.

Roger - I'm looking at both of these on a 22" LCD flatscreen - it's brand new and has been calibrated - whether that means anything is anybody's guess.
Photo 1 is definitely lighter and shows more detail especially around the foyer of the building on the left. It appears, however, that the lines of the buildings are not as sharp in this shot and there is a little bit more noise.
Don't know if this helps any - I think we all might have the same problem.

Yeh Roger - this is a great shot. Think it might have done quite well in reflections. And yes, hindsight.....if only!!

This is the better of the two, certainly due to the blending you did. I'm guessing you're going for the HDR-type thing. It can be done in PS but the EXIF must be stripped away or there's the Wukong Beta going around where you can do it from a single exposure.

I like the shot you took here, and I'm guessing early morning since there's not much traffic. I like how that bit of sun is peaking out, suggesting the beginning or end of the day. The picture seems a bit cool for this time of day; but that may be what you were going for. A bit of warming filter may help it match the time of day it was taken at.

I'm viewing on a calibrated 19" LCD.

the crop seems a little forced... maybe vertical would have included the sunset more without losing the reflection.

I agree the light is much better on this one (LCD flat screen)
