The compressed shadow from the midday sun is well observed

I cannot help but feel that the image would have had more impact with a toghter crop around the main subject, pulling the shadow into the front row.
Technical: Technically OK 1
The highlights are badly blown for me but there is a sense where this adds to the impact of the shadow.
Wow: Has some impact 1
By pulling the shadow more into the composition I think that this image would have significantly increased my score.

Neat, atmospheric image with nice colours and soft details, perfect for the mood. Tone and contrasts are really good. I think you may want to have cropped the image so that the blue line at the left was removed. I also think some people might have a hard time finding what's "framed". Nonetheless, a great picture.
