Blixaby rubienneComment by MaryO: Gorgeous lighting and moody feel. Hope I'm not maligning the cat by saying that! |

Ha'Penny Bridgeby rubienneComment by bmartuch: We Were in Dublin this past spring and we walked across that bridge. You did a fabulous job on this photo. I understand why you are proud of it. Unfortunatley, I couldn't use any of my pictures in challenges because of the time frame. A couple of them are in my portfolio though. |

Pure Magicby rubienneComment by rubienne: Thanks for your helpful comment:-)
This was a snapshot taken at our local pub and the flowers were already there as a table dressing. The pint was brought out and put down in front of my boyfriend and I shot it where it was. Had no way of changing the lighting really and it never occured to me people may think it was a set up studio shot.
I see your point about the backlighting but in much of the Guinness marketing the pints appear like this, dense and black, almost solid, which is why I think I must have liked this and saved it from snapshot obscurity on my hard drive...
Thanks for looking, thinking about it and commenting :-) |

Pure Magicby rubienneComment by gazdi: It's an interesting idea to serve Guinness with flowers and I really like the play with shapes here, but have to disagree with lighting. The shadow of flowers is unnecessary on the glass, the surve of the glass could have been emphasized with a swimming pool on the right, but first of all, I'd have lit the beer from the back to get back its color and texture. |

Bordeaux Snowby rubienneComment by modgethanc: lots of the snow-covered lump things seem like humanoid figures to me, holding their hands up with their backs to us, but rooted into the frozen ground. creepy as hell, i love it. |
