as for the photo is think it's awesome, it has composition, color, details and everything what i like :-)
maybe the people were distracted with the foreground pipe and left side white things (sails?) so maybe if you cropped out the pipe and cloned out the white thingies i bet the 5 votes would become 7's or even 8's ... and one more thing the V shaped mountain in the background is awesome also

Wonderful expression, fun clothing and make-up. The pose works for you. Some things going against you include: lighting - too close to the background, producing heavy shadows & too close to the subject with the flash producing blown highlights and little detail. The processing looks like you've added a diffused glow (which would be illegal in basic) or a large radius USM - which comes across to me as over done, even for the era. 5
