You certainly have access to things most of us could only dream of shooting.

Isnt this the kind of shot one can sell for nice coin?

I think this is a beautiful representation of devastation. In MY favs it goes too. I would not have trouble believing this shot won some kind of journalistic photo award. The event and the misery it brought is VERY well captured here.

Also the fact that she is so ALONE adds to the poignancy of the image.

Comment by Brad:
This kind of crop / composition / use of the buildings leading lines just draws the eyes to her as the main focal point, which is exactly what is so right about it. The bright sky behind her only compliments that by use of the negative space above here. It's a great shot. A story is told and very effectively.

Hi, agree with all that the other commentators said.

From my point of view, and trying to see symbolism in your work:

I like how the builing directly to the girl's left seem to almost blend into the sky, as a reminder of the intense flouding that passed by just hours ago, that seemed to engulf everything. The water she is walking through looks "soft" and calm, to almost symbolise a tamed beast, tired after a long struggle. And the model almost a symbol of the human spirit still standing tall after the disaster that engulfed so many.

Great shot, you should be really proud of this one.

Jan.

Curiously surreal juxtaposition. I find the overall effect and colours interesting.
