This is amazing! What a sport he is. Don't get a turtle, keep shooting people! OK, go ahead and get a turtle...but keep shooting people, too. The red is a great choice and the eyes are incredible. I really appreciate the fact that they are not bloodshot (my pet peeve:).

The shadow doesn't really bother me. It sort of creates a sinister feeling; even though he looks pretty non-sinister under that paint. Nice work, Amanda!

hmm... a few people have mentioned the shadow on his head, really, most of that is where the paint was too thin, I did the finishing up while he was standing, so I didn't really notice the top of his head, lol, and then the shadow just happened to fall that way, so it was magnified... oh well, guess I could've painted it more once I noticed, but I didn't want to make it longer than it had to be.

Thanks everyone for the comments, lol, and yeah he's get a nice big bald head... perfect for painting

Great stuff with the eyes.

Bit of a dark spot on the head from lighting...

Did you start with your lights at 90 degrees or 120 degrees angle from each other? Maybe they need to be a tiny bit higher... ?

Lighting can be really tough.

I think you are definitely starting to move beyond "coming along nicely" now...

Nice to shoot someone else for a change isn't it?

A nitpick would be in the strange soft appearance of the eyes. A bit of sharpening or something might give them a bit more snap... maybe. I'd try a fairly wide radius with some strong amounts masked just to the eyes on a separate layer and maybe in darken mode and play with the opacity... Just a guess.

Gave this an 8. Yet another creative, well-done shot from you. You're definitely demonstrating repeatedly why you're on my favorite photogs list. :)

And that was before I even realized the connection between the title and the crop!

Interesting shot...... The blue eyes really make this photo pop. The subject must have had fun putting on, and taking off the red paint!7
